VOC Golf Day Returns to Rondebosch Golf Club in May

The VOC Golf Day is set to take place on 7 May at Rondebosch Golf Club, offering golf enthusiasts the chance to enjoy a day on the course while connecting with the team from Voice of the Cape Radio and its business partners.

The annual event has become a popular fixture on the station’s calendar, bringing together players, sponsors, and supporters for a day of friendly competition and networking.

According to Ayesha Sidar, Sales and Marketing Manager at Voice of the Cape, the highly anticipated event returns following the success of last year’s outing.

“If you remember last year’s one, it is back. Last year’s one was quite fun to see, with all the holes being sponsored and the competitiveness of the players. Every year, there seems to be some kind of fight on the greens,” she said.

Sidar added that participants can once again expect the familiar format that has made the event popular among golfers.

“On the 7th of May at Rondebosch, the VOC Golf Day takes place. The usual four-balls, the usual sponsoring of a hole, there’s a t-shirt, a cap, a goodie bag, a prize-giving dinner, and a halfway meal. So, it’s quite a bit that we are giving away,” she explained.

She noted that the event typically sells out quickly, which is why organisers have opened registrations earlier this year.

“People will have time after Eid to come through, book your four-ball, book your hole, do everything so that on the 7th of May it’s calm and it’s fun,” she said.

Sidar encouraged interested participants and sponsors to secure their spots early by contacting Voice of the Cape or following the station’s social media platforms for registration links and further details.

VOC became the first Muslim radio station in South Africa when a special events license was granted to the station in Ramadan/January 1995. Subsequent temporary broadcast licenses were granted, permitting the station to broadcast for 24 hours.
