US Secretary of State insists that strike against Iran was one against an ‘evil’ regime

US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has maintained that the objective of the United States’ war against Iran is to neutralise the Islamic Republic’s military capabilities.

Speaking at the U.S. Hostage and Wrongful Detainee Flag Raising Ceremony, Rubio argued that the Islamic Republic was ‘evil’ and that the attack on the United States was necessary to rid the region of a horrid state.

“This is a terrorist government, this is a terroristic regime, and we are seeing them conduct terrorism using nation-state elements. Using weapons like missiles and one-way attack drones, our objective in this mission is to destroy their ability to do that,” stated Rubio.

Iran has routinely affirmed that the strikes against Middle Eastern states are specifically targeting US military bases. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed that from the perspective of the Islamic Republic, they were targeting U.S. military installations in the regions, not specifically their regional allies.
