Two Men Killed, Child Injured in Delft Gang Shooting

As gun violence continues to plague the Cape Flats, two men were shot and killed, and a seven-year-old child was wounded in a suspected gang-related shooting in Delft on Sunday morning.

SAPS spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk said both victims were sitting and drinking when unidentified gunmen opened fire.

“Delft police registered two counts of murder and an attempted murder case following a shooting incident on Sunday morning (2025-10-05) at 11:30 at a premises in Auber Street, Delft South, where two adult males were shot and fatally wounded and a seven-year-old child injured,” said Van Wyk.

Medical personnel declared the two men dead on the scene. The child, who was reportedly playing in the street at the time, was struck by a stray bullet and rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Van Wyk urged anyone with information to come forward.

“Anyone with information about this shooting incident can contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or use the MySAPS mobile application anonymously.”

The incident adds to growing concerns over gang-related violence on the Cape Flats, where innocent lives, including children, continue to be caught in the crossfire.
