The Trauma Centre for Survivors of Violence and Torture has partnered with Women for Change and other civil society organisations to call for a National Shutdown on 21 November, aiming to raise awareness of the gender-based violence and femicide crisis in South Africa.
In an interview with VOC News, Marguerite Holtzhausen, Executive Director of The Trauma Centre for Survivors of Violence and Torture Trust, stated that the concurrent G20 summit presents an opportunity to draw the global community’s attention to the crisis.
