A Palestinian activist currently detained in a UK prison is experiencing worsening health conditions, including muscle spasms and respiratory difficulties, as her hunger strike surpasses 60 days.
Prisoners for Palestine (P4P) reported that Heba Muraisi – detained for over a year due to her activism concerning Palestine – has completed more than 64 days without food, making her the group’s longest hunger striker.
Speaking to VOC News, Roshila Nair, Convenor of Global South Against Xenophobia (GSAX), said the manner in which the UK responded to the matter says the nation is complicit in a genocide.
“Instead of granting the activists their right to protest, the government has criminalised it under terrorism laws, resulting in some of the protesters being detained while the Palestine Action group is being declared a terrorist organisation,” explained Nair.
