Cape Town is hosted the 4th Africa International Youth Kungfu Championship this weekend, convening young athletes from across the African continent. Organised by Muhammad Junaid Chafeker, the event features defending champions South Africa as they compete for top honours.
Speaking to VOC News, Chafeker reflects on the key highlights from Saturday’s proceedings and outlines the programme for the remainder of the event.
“The day was filled with fierce competition, with day one, home team South African Chin Woo Kungfu currently standing on ten gold medals, while Zimbabwe came with a strong team this time close behind with six gold medals,” expressed Chafeker.
“Zambia and Botswana in 5th and 6th position with two silver each and Mozambique sitting on two gold medals,” he added.
