Team SA demonstrated unity: Ramaphosa

As team South Africa arrives after four days of robust discussions at the World Economic Forum, the team is satisfied that the right messages about the country as an investment destination were put out.

Business, labour and government were united when talking to delegates at the WEF on matters around trade, investment as well as inclusive growth.

Depuuty President, Cyril Ramaphosa says the team demonstrated unity even when faced with difficult situations at home.

“We have succeeded in putting out a very positive message about South Africa. And all of us, almost 60 of us, well sold South Africa and none of us emitted negative messages about the country.”

Meanwhile Finance Minister, Pravin Gordhan says one of the key topics that were discussed at 2017 World Economic Forum was the fourth industrial revolution.

Gordhan says government is working closely with business and labour to discuss possible job losses that often come with it.

He says as Team SA, they managed to explain to global leaders some of the messages that often depict South Africa in a different light.

“We tried to explain to the world about what they hear from us, what they read about us, and very diligently, we tried to fashion a  set of messages which enable us whether we are in the private sector of the public sector.”
