Tanzanian law enforcement cautions against utilizing social media to disseminate false information

Tanzanian law enforcement authorities have issued warnings regarding the use of social media to spread misinformation following the circulation of a viral video in which an alleged military officer criticizes the government. This incident occurred three weeks prior to the general elections.

Claiming to be “Capt Tesha” from the Air Force, he charges the government with corruption, violations of rights, and meddling in military affairs.

Speaking to VOC News, Development Economist and African continent analyst Dr. Jason Motsyoka provided an update on the latest developments.
