South Africans alleges they were deceived into combatting for Russia in Ukraine and report racist mistreatment by Russian officials

South Africans who allege they were deceived into fighting for Russia in Ukraine report experiencing racist mistreatment by Russian officials.

According to recent reports, four of the men returned home this weekend, recounting experiences they claim were traumatic and for which they were unprepared.

They assert they were dispatched to the front lines with minimal training, deprived of their identities, and sent into active warfare.

Speaking to VOC News, Thabang Motswaledi from the Department of Political Studies and International Relations at Northwest University said there are allegations of the exchange of millions, which raises the question of who those monies benefited.
