The community of Seawinds is reeling once again after a fatal shooting claimed the life of a 23-year-old woman and left a 15-year-old boy wounded on Friday morning.
The Seawinds, Overcome Heights, and Steenberg areas have been plagued by persistent gun violence in recent months, with residents living in constant fear.
In the latest incident, SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed that officers were called to the crime scene in St Roberts Street, Seawinds, where they discovered the victims with gunshot wounds.
“This office can confirm that the 23-year-old female was declared deceased at a medical facility earlier today. Muizenberg detectives are investigating cases of murder and attempted murder,” said Twigg.
“According to reports, the victims were asleep in their Wendy house when shots were fired from the outside.”
