SA records 1 674 new coronavirus cases

South Africa has recorded 1 674 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number to 1 581 210. In a statement, the Department of Health also reported 19 COVID-19 related deaths.

“Eastern Cape 3, Free State 1, Gauteng 7, Kwa-Zulu Natal 4, Limpopo 0, Mpumalanga 3, North West 0, Northern Cape 0, and Western Cape.” This brings the total to 54 350 deaths.

The cumulative recoveries now stand at 1 505 620, representing a recovery rate of 95%. The number of health care workers vaccinated under the Sisonke Protocol to date is 317 656.

The number of tests conducted to date is 10 654 870.
