President Cyril Ramaphosa stated that the Government of National Unity (GNU) will prioritise economic reform, tackle crime, and strengthen the state’s ability to deliver quality services.
Speaking during the Presidency budget vote in Parliament, Ramaphosa emphasised that all departments must work collaboratively to stimulate growth, reduce poverty, and improve service delivery.
He said the GNU’s goal is to restore public trust and deliver tangible change, with the National Dialogue serving as a vital tool in fostering unity across South Africa.
“The National Dialogue is not just about talking,” said Ramaphosa. Like the Convention for a Democratic South Africa (CODESA), the National Peace Accord, and the consultative processes that shaped our Constitution, it is expected to deliver real, life-changing outcomes for our people.”
