President Donald Trump has indicated that the United States will continue its military action against Iran

President Donald Trump has signalled that the United States is prepared to intensify its military campaign against Iran, indicating that further strikes may follow attacks carried out a day earlier.

Speaking at the White House on Tuesday, Trump suggested that Washington would continue its offensive operations against Tehran.

“We hit them hard yesterday, and we’re going to hit them hard again today,” he said, underscoring the administration’s determination to maintain pressure on Iran amid escalating tensions in the region.

The remarks come as Iranian officials have issued stern warnings in response to the latest developments. According to early reports, a senior Iranian official warned that, should Trump choose to continue the conflict, the United States would face the “full price” of the consequences. The official further claimed that Iran’s planned retaliatory measures could have significant economic repercussions for the U.S.

As concerns grow over the potential for a wider regional conflict, questions remain about the implications of continued military action and the prospects for diplomatic engagement.

To unpack these developments and their broader geopolitical significance, international relations analyst Dr Oscar van Heerden spoke to VOC News.
