The South African Police Service (SAPS) has confirmed that Camps Bay police have opened an assault case for further investigation following a brutal attack on a woman earlier this month along the Jeep Track in Camps Bay.
According to police spokesperson Anelisiwe Manyana, officers responded to a report of an elderly woman who had been assaulted. By the time they arrived at the scene, the victim had already been transported to a nearby hospital by private vehicle.
Camps Bay police have since opened a case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH), and investigations are ongoing.
No arrests have been made at this stage, and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
