Palestinian academic, physician, and activist, Mustafa Barghouti, has visited the Mother City to inform South Africans about the ongoing challenges encountered by Palestinians, the present geopolitical situation in the Middle East, and the Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip.
Barghouti, Palestinian journalist Youmna El Sayed, and former UK Labour Leader and anti-Apartheid activist Jeremy Corbyn have begun a tour in South Africa to engage in discussions with various journalists and media professionals regarding the genocide in Gaza.
During the Jumuah khutbah (sermon) delivered at Masjidul Quds on Friday, 3 October 2025, Barghouti praised South Africans for their steadfast backing of Palestinians.
