Paddlers discover body floating in Zeekoevlei

Paddlers on Sunday discovered the body of a man in a life jacket in Zeekoevlei near Grassy Park on Sunday, the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) confirmed.

The paddlers spotted the body floating in a life-jacket near to a capsized boat while they were on an early morning paddle, NSRI station commander Vaughn Seconds said in a statement.

By the time an NSRI team arrived at the scene, the paddlers had already brought the body to the shore.

The NSRI couldn’t immediately provide the man’s age. Circumstances surrounding the incident are still unknown and police are investigating.
