Nouman Ali Khan set to tour SA

It’s been a long wait, but finally Capetonians will be able to hear one of the world’s most influential Muslims, Nouman Ali Khan, when he arrives in the city this week. The US based scholar is the founder of Bayyinah, the Institute for Arabic and Qur’anic Studies in Dallas.

Khan has become one of the most popular Islamic scholars today, mainly due to his resonance with youth.  With social media following in the several millions, he continues to leverage his worldwide reach to promote a better understanding of the Qur’an based on rigorous research yet easy to understand language.

He has already completed a video translation of the entire Qur’an and is now dedicated to completing an exhaustive tafsir over the course of the next few years. He has been named one of the 500 most influential Muslims in the world by the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre of Jordan. Khan is an expert on the linguistic miracle of the Holy Quran.

For the first time, a South African audience will be able to attend his talks as part of his tour called Story Night: Accused, which is now sold out online.

“Arguably the most painful episode in the messenger’s life consists of the number of weeks during which the dignity of his beloved wife, our mother Aisha (RA) was brought into question. As rumors took Madinah by storm, they demoralized the Muslims community and did more damage than could ever be inflicted on the battlefield. Yet this terrible time was part of Allah’s grand plan to bring the faithful out of this darkness back into the light,” said Bayinnah Institute on its website.

“To do so, Allah revealed His brilliant words in the Surah of Light that not only brought relief to the prophet (S), his family and the faithful (R) but became a source of powerful counsel for the faithful to come until judgment day. Join Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan as he attempts to have us relive this powerful story in light of the ayaat of Surat al Noor.”
