The South African Postbank has successfully migrated over one million beneficiaries from the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) gold cards to Postbank black cards. Speaking on Ramadan AM, Postbank Chief Commercial Officer Thami Cele confirmed that more than 15% of grant beneficiaries have already made the switch.
“We would like to thank all those who have successfully transitioned to Postbank black cards. Currently, 1.3 million grant beneficiaries have made the switch; however, we still have a long way to go to ensure that everyone has a black card,” he said.
Cele further encouraged those who have yet to switch to do so at selected retail outlets, as the rollout will continue throughout the year.
“SASSA gold card users must note that they will no longer be able to access their funds using these cards. To withdraw their money, they will need to visit a post office,” he emphasized.
