Gayton McKenzie, the Patriotic Alliance’s leader and Minister of Sport, Arts, and Culture, has rejected the South African Human Rights Commission’s finding of prima facie hate speech against him based on historical social media posts. McKenzie described the decision as defamatory and politically motivated, claiming that he never received official correspondence and was unfairly prejudged. He claims that the matter is a campaign to tarnish his reputation ahead of a potential future.
“The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) has gone public with all the letters they never sent to me. One thing I understand about the law is that you must hear both sides. I am looking forward to my day in court, where I will cross-examine them. They consider this a campaign; they believe I will run for president in 2029. “I am not even thinking along those lines,” said McKenzie
