The Western Cape Education Department has confirmed that the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations have proceeded smoothly, with no major incidents reported.
Matric learners are scheduled to conclude the exams on Wednesday.
Western Cape Education MEC, David Maynier, said that 4,190 markers will now assess over 954,000 exam scripts at 12 marking centres across the province.
“This is a massive administrative task, and we appreciate the support that the public has shown during the exams. Thank you to our matric teachers who have worked tirelessly to prepare our candidates. Your support has built a strong foundation for your learners’ future lives and careers,” Maynier said.
The national matric results will be announced on Monday, 12 January 2026, with students able to access their results at their schools or online via the WCED website on Tuesday, 13 January 2026.
