As the Muslim community prepares to celebrate Eid, there remains a final opportunity to fast, extending the spirit of Ramadan while offering another chance to support those in need.
Sheikh Nabeel Majiet spoke to VOC News about the significance of fitrah, a form of charity in Islam, and its underlying fiqh (Islamic legal principles).
“We observe the month of Ramadan as an act of ibaadah to Allah (SWT), hoping that He accepts our good deeds. However, many of us may fall short through careless speech, including vulgar or idle talk while fasting. For this reason, Zakat al-Fitr has been prescribed and is obligatory upon every Muslim,” he explained.
