Imbizo to tackle issues in higher education

President Jacob Zuma says he wants to see an urgent solution to the current crisis in higher education.

Government and education stakeholders will hold an urgent meeting in Kempton Park, Johannesburg on Monday morning.

They will discuss the wave of violent protests in which students are demanding free education.

Several campuses at universities around the country have been forced to shut down after students went on the rampage around.

This follows the Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande’s announcement that the 2017 tuition fees would not be more than 8%.

The Presidential spokesperson Bongani Ngqulunga says President Zuma will on Monday morning officially open the Higher Education stakeholders Imbizo.
