Hamas observes Palestinian Journalist Appreciation Day

In recognition of Palestinian Journalist Appreciation Day, the Palestinian resistance group Hamas issued a statement commending the contributions of Palestinian journalists during the ongoing Israeli military operations in Gaza.

Hamas stated, “The Palestinian journalists’ role will remain stronger than the occupation’s bullets, and its crimes will not silence their voice. We call for holding the occupation leaders accountable for their crimes against journalists in Palestine.”

“The Palestinian Journalist Appreciation Day is commemorated this year following a brutal and genocidal war against the Gaza Strip that has lasted for two full years, during which 257 journalists have been killed since its beginning on October 7, 2023,” the resistance added.

The Palestinian government in the Gaza Strip has declared 31 December as the Palestinian Journalist Appreciation Day since 2010, which comes in recognition of the journalist’s role, efforts, and sacrifices, conveying the truth to the world and reinforcing the Palestinian narrative in the Palestinian plight.

“On this day, we stand with pride, honor, and deep appreciation for the journey of these heroic Palestinian journalists and media professionals, who remain united with our people, conveying the truth in defense of Palestine and the just Palestinian issue,” reiterated Hamas.
