Hamas denounces the attacks and interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla

The Palestinian resistance group Hamas has denounced the attacks on and interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla, describing the actions as “piracy and terrorism.”

“The Zionist occupation navy’s interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla in international waters, and the arrest of activists and journalists on board, constitutes a treacherous assault and an act of piracy and maritime terrorism against civilians, further adding to the occupation’s long record of crimes,” said Hamas.

Hamas reaffirmed that the Israeli navy’s actions are criminal and called on the global community to condemn them.

“We salute the courage of the free activists and their determination to break the siege on our people, and call upon free peoples worldwide to stage popular events and rallies to condemn this crime,” added Hamas.

“We demand that the United Nations (UN) and the international community to assume their legal and moral responsibilities to condemn the occupation and its acts of piracy, take urgent steps to protect the solidarity activists and their ships,” stressed Hamas.
