Preparations for the 1447 Hajj season are now in full swing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with South African representatives on the ground overseeing arrangements for local pilgrims under the new Nusuk system.
As the flow of hujaaj continues, attention remains on coordination efforts and how effectively services are being delivered in real time.
Speaking to VOC News, South African Hajj and Umrah Council (SAHUC) President Hafiz Mooaz Cassim, who is currently in the Kingdom, said preparations are progressing amid a busy atmosphere in Makkah.
“Alhamdulillah, it’s extremely busy in Makkatul Mukarramah and you can feel and see that Hajj is about to happen within the next week, insha Allah. Next week this time, everybody will be moving to Mina for the first day of Hajj, insha Allah. So you can sense the atmosphere, and you can see people are excited for Hajj. Some are very anxious and nervous knowing what is about to come. But alhamdulillah, there are massive crowds here at the moment, there is good security, and good support from the ministry. So everything seems to be going well so far,” he said.
