Grassy Park police arrest a suspect for possession of drugs

A 39-year-old suspect is scheduled to appear in Wynberg Magistrates’ Court after being arrested for drug possession in the Lotus River area on Thursday.

According to F.C. van Wyk, spokesperson for the South African Police Services (SAPS), police officials acted on information they received about drugs being sold at a house on Eland Avenue in Lotus River.

“Upon arrival at the location, the members witnessed the owner attempting to flee with a blue plastic bag in his possession. However, the members ordered him to stop, and he dropped the bag next to him. A search of the bag revealed 798 Mandrax tablets,” explained van Wyk.
