In the early hours of this morning, frantic community leaders from the Mbokweni Informal Settlement reached out for urgent help after a devastating fire destroyed many homes, leaving countless families without shelter. The Gift of the Givers teams responded swiftly, showing compassion and solidarity with those affected by this tragedy.
Gift of the Givers teams are on standby conducting assessments and providing immediate humanitarian assistance. Gift of the Givers’ Ali Sablay told VOC News that hot meals are being distributed, and at the request of Disaster Risk Management, bottled water will also be provided as temperatures continue to soar.
