Former Finance Minister Trevor Manuel has issued a stark warning about obstacles to growth that are holding back the African continent. Manuel delivered the warning during his speech to delegates at the B20 summit in Sandton on Wednesday.
This comes as the global business community gathers for the final time under South Africa’s G20 presidency, with officials from all the bloc’s working groups preparing to decide on a possible declaration at Nasrec this weekend.
Speaking on VOC’s PM Drive, Mika Kubayi, senior researcher at the Institute for Global Dialogue affiliated with the University of South Africa (UNISA), said Manuel’s statement appears to hold weight.
