Rapid Antigen tests will now cost no more than 150-rand inclusive of VAT with immediate effect.
This comes after the Competition Commission and South Africa’s three largest private pathology groups, Pathcare, Lancet and Ampath, reached an agreement to reduce the price.
The department of health welcomed the price cut, which is expected to remain in effect for two years.
