Pastor Anoiske of the Spirit Revelation Ecclesia Church has penned down a hard-hitting letter to the City of Cape Town saying that they have received no formal notification of bid rejection, satisfaction of sale process requirements, or transaction termination.
This follows Hill-Lewis’s public statements on live radio, in which he said the church did not have the funds to buy the property, while a second bidder, a mosque, was now on the cards.
Pastor Anoiske of St John Holdings (Pty) Ltd, together with the New World Faith Ministries, asked for clarification on the current status of the sale and to meet with city officials, which would include the mayor.
“We respectfully state that, to the best of our knowledge, we have not failed to meet the requirements communicated to us by the city. Throughout this process, we have engaged with the city in good faith and have continued to cooperate with all due diligence and compliance requests. We remain committed to concluding the transaction and have been awaiting formal feedback from the City to enable us to finalise the purchase,” reads the statement.
