Unverified reports have claimed that Russia and China plan to provide Iran with arms amid ongoing warfare against the U.S. and Israel.
The veracity of these reports has been questioned due to conflicting remarks from various sources.
Middle East Eye published a report stating that three officials aware of the situation stated that China is supplying Iran with “offensive” weaponry, along with extra “defensive” arms.
Furthermore, the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated on Monday that China appreciates the longstanding friendship with Iran and backs Iran in protecting its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and national dignity.
Speaking to VOC News, international relations expert and Mail & Guardian columnist Donovan Williams argues that the eastern states have already provided tangible support to Iran.
