“We welcome the recent United Nations (UN) report that finds Israel guilty of the crime of genocide in its ongoing lethal aggression in Gaza. The report relied primarily on evidence from the ground in Gaza and statements from the leadership of the Israeli military, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his ministers, and military officials,” said the Palestine Human Rights Organization Africa4Palestine.
The statement follows the release of a report by the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Tuesday, 18 September 2025, confirming that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.
“The report, authored by world-renowned international law expert and South African anti-apartheid activist Ms. Navi Pillay, further finds that explicit statements and actions by Israeli civilian and military authorities, along with the conduct of Israeli security forces, indicate genocidal intent to destroy, in whole or in part, Palestinians in Gaza as a group,” said Africa4Palestine’s Ali Komape.
“We appreciate the UN’s work on this investigation. However, alongside other Palestinian human rights organizations worldwide, we raised the alarm about Israel’s genocidal intent as early as October 2023 and called on the international community to act, both legally and morally, to prevent further killings in Gaza,” he added.
The organization said the report vindicates its longstanding identification of Israel as a pariah state and a threat to world peace and order.
“It is important to note that numerous human rights organizations, including Israeli-led groups, had already documented Israel’s gross human rights violations prior to October 2023,” Africa4Palestine reiterated.
