The human rights organisation Africa4Palestine has issued a statement commending the Sumud Flotilla, describing it as “a courageous mission of conscience.”
“We warn the Israeli regime: do not jeopardize the safety of those aboard this humanitarian flotilla. The international community is watching. Any attempts to attack, detain, or endanger civilians exercising their right to peaceful solidarity would represent yet another grave violation of international law and human decency,” cautioned the organisation’s Ali Komape.
“The flotilla carries a powerful message from the peoples of the Global South and from freedom-loving nations across the world – that Israel’s ongoing genocidal actions and hostilities will not go unanswered and will not go without consequence,” Komape added.
The organisation further affirmed its unwavering solidarity with the besieged Palestinians and those aboard the Sumud Flotilla, stating that their courage and commitment to justice reflect the nation’s “proud tradition of resistance against apartheid and oppression – wherever it exists.”
“From the shores of Africa to the seas of Palestine, our struggle is shared, and our solidarity unbreakable,” he concluded.
