The Colorado Mosque community is continuing mop-up operations following recent storms and flooding that caused significant damage to the masjid grounds and interior.
Floodwaters severely affected the mosque’s carpets, which will take time to fully dry, while cleaning efforts remain ongoing at the premises.
Speaking ton VOC News Masjidul Wadood chairperson Abdul Latief Moosa Moos said teams have been working tirelessly to clean the masjid and assess the extent of the damage caused by the heavy rains.
“We are still busy with mop-up operations. The carpets are very wet and we are using heaters to assist with drying, insha Allah. The masjid will be out of bounds for the next few days.

Alternative arrangements have been made for salaah and daily prayers. Cleaning operations have begun, and we will need financial assistance so that a proper assessment can be conducted and repairs to the carpets can be carried out.”
The mosque has confirmed that alternative arrangements are in place for salaah facilities while restoration work continues.
Community members have been urged to assist with donations as recovery efforts move into the assessment and repair phase.
