Diplomatic attempts to resolve the U.S.-Israel conflict regarding Iran continue to be unclear

Diplomatic attempts to resolve the U.S.-Israel conflict regarding Iran continue to be unclear, as Tehran asserts it will not engage in talks while under the “shadow of threats.”

U.S. President Donald Trump states that the blockade on Iranian ports will continue until Islamic Republic reaches an agreement.

Senior researcher at Mapungubwe Institute for Strategic Reflection (MISTRA), Naeem Jeena, said there is diplomacy in social media posts and diplomacy behind the scenes.

“The deal about opening the Strait of Hurmoz was something brokered by the Pakistanis, and it stated that the waterway would be opened and that the attacks on Lebanon would stop. Trump is not happy with this because he has been telling the public that he won the war, so now he has to show that he won the war, and he hasn’t,” explained Jeena.
