A fire recently ripped through a home in Georga Crescent, Colorado Park

A fire recently tore through a home in Georgia Crescent, Colorado Park, resulting in the loss of significant valuables.

Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson Jermaine Carelse said crews received a call reporting a house ablaze at around 09:35. Firefighters from the Mitchells Plain, Ottery and Gugulethu fire stations were dispatched to the scene and attended to the incident.

“The fire was extinguished after it gutted the dwelling, leaving six people displaced. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains unknown,” Carelse confirmed.

Meanwhile, Shukria Philander, the daughter of the property owner, told VOC News that the fire had “burned the home to ashes.”

“Anyone who is able to contribute to the rebuilding of the home, whether in cash or kind, will be highly appreciated,” stated Philander.

Anyone wishing to assist the family may do so by contacting Shukria Philander on +27 61 262 4751.
