Marco Rubio calls on Europe to reject globalism, migration, and return to traditional values

United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio has come under scrutiny following his speech at the Munich Security Conference.

In his address, the Western leader argued that what he described as Western decline had been accelerated by “godless communist revolutions” and “anti-colonial” uprisings. Rubio further called for stronger ties between Europe and the United States, stating that the US wants allies who are “proud of their culture and of their heritage.”

Speaking to VOC News, Professor Ahmed Jazbhay, political analyst and executive member of the Media Review Network, said the remarks reflect what he believes is an effort by the Trump administration to bolster white supremacy in the West.

“We must read between the lines and ask the crucial question: what is the subliminal messaging being conveyed by Rubio? Rubio’s messaging is part of a coordinated attempt during Trump 2.0 to arrest what they perceive as the decline of whiteness and white supremacy. Trump’s MAGA base views his administration as a last-chance opportunity to rescue coloniality — the continuation of colonialism through systemic means,” said the professor.

For Professor Jazbhay, Rubio’s comments signal a call for a return to colonial-era power structures and an attempt to preserve a global order that benefits what he terms “whiteness.”

“Coloniality is in terminal decline, and the Trump administration is desperately trying to cling to a cosmology that privileges whiteness. This is why he was voted into power, and Rubio is his representative, putting this plan into action,” explained Professor Jazbhay.
