After recent burglary events in Simonstown and Fishoek, the South African Police Service (SAPS) intelligence team collected information today, and members of the Flying Squad were pursuing leads.
“They pulled over a white Toyota Fortuner with three male occupants. During the search, they found a laptop, a phone, and household items, and were informed that another house had been broken into in Simonstown,” said Constable Ndakhe Gwala.
“The three suspects were arrested for possession of stolen property and housebreaking. They will appear in the Simonstown Magistrate’s court,” added Gwala.
In a separate incident, members of Kleinvlei SAPS apprehended a 45-year-old gang member suspect for pointing a firearm in Eersteriver.
“On Wednesday, 07 January 2026, members of Kleinvlei were patrolling and were stopped by community members. They reported that they were pointed at with a firearm by a male suspect who was in a white Toyota Quantum. Police spotted the vehicle and searched the occupants,” said
Gwala noted that once charged, the suspect will appear in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s court.
