The Western Cape Department of Social Development said it remains committed to promoting the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities beyond Disability Rights Awareness Month, which runs from 3 November to 3 December 2025. MEC Jaco Londt says the department will strengthen efforts to build a more inclusive and accessible society for all.
Speaking to VOC News, the Spokesperson for the Western Cape Social Development, Esther Lewis, said that the idea is to sensitize communities, businesses, and families (along with their needs) to dismantle societal and attitudinal obstacles.
