The Cape Flats once again witnessed a violent weekend, with multiple fatal shootings leaving communities in shock.
In Hanover Park, Philippi police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder following a shooting on Sunday night, which left one man dead and another wounded. According to SAPS spokesperson Constable Ndakhe Gwala, officers responded to the scene at Stonelands Road, Halmans Walk, at around 21:20.
“This office confirms that Philippi SAPS members attended a shooting incident at Stonelands Road, Halmans Walk, Hanover Park, where two males aged 25 and 38 were shot on Sunday, 02 November 2025, at 21:20,” Gwala said.
The 25-year-old victim was fatally wounded, while the 38-year-old man was transported to a medical facility for treatment.
Police have appealed to the public for assistance in tracing the suspects.
