Recent reports indicate that U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have publicly addressed a new peace agreement for Gaza. Hamas has stated that it is still evaluating the 20-point proposal, while Palestinian representatives contend that the plan disregards their rights and fails to address alleged Israeli war crimes.
Speaking to VOC News, Professor Ahmed Jazbhay of the Media Review Network argued that the absence of a specified timeline for Israeli withdrawal means that conditions for Gazans are unlikely to improve. He further asserted that the proposal constitutes a plan for Hamas to capitulate rather than a genuine peace initiative.
