United States (U.S.) President Donald Trump addressed the United Nations General Assembly at the U.N. headquarters in New York, delivering a speech that criticised global migration and climate change policies. He also rejected international efforts to establish a Palestinian state, emphasising the need for a ceasefire related to the hostage deal in Gaza.
Mustafa EFE, political analyst and president of the Centre for African Strategic Studies, told VOC News that Trump’s speech at the General Assembly is disturbing the world and the future of the world because he spends nearly an hour at the podium.
“Everybody was surprised; seven years ago, when Trump spoke, everyone applauded; this time, everyone was shocked.”
“These issues highlight immigration challenges and human rights violations, but he remains indifferent to them.” He has accused the United Nations of having friendly immigration policies. The main issue, he claims, is that globalism is over.”
