“The U.S. administration’s use of the veto on Thursday, 18 September 2025, to block a United Nations (UN) draft resolution at the Security Council calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip represents blatant complicity and full partnership in the crime of genocide committed against Palestinians.”
This is according to the Palestinian resistance group Hamas. The group labeled the U.S. veto as a green light for continuing the assault against innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip, mainly women and children.
Hamas, along with various countries and international organizations, urged continued pressure on the Israeli government to halt what it describes as genocide.
