Early reports noted that Lebanon is presently split between two perspectives on Hezbollah’s arms and that both alternatives are rooted in sectarian foundations, either through a party that has opted to pursue a sectarian agenda or through a sectarian sociopolitical framework.
Speaking to VOC News, Lebanese journalist Sara Talih Matar expressed that many in her country are awaiting a cabinet session of the Lebanese government scheduled for Friday, September 5, 2025.
“The session should outline a defensive strategy and plan for the Lebanese army concerning the disarmament of Hezbollah,” Matar confirmed.
