Minister of Tourism Patricia de Lille has constructed an interim board to supervise the affairs of South African Tourism, following the dissolution of the previous board in connection with the alleged unlawful suspension of CEO Nombulelo Guliwe.
Mzamo Masito has been appointed as Chairperson, while Kholeka Zama assumes the role of Deputy Chairperson.
According to the department’s spokesperson, Aldrin Sampear, the panel comprises experts in finance, law, and tourism. The minister will subsequently invite nominations for permanent board members.
“The terms of office for the aforementioned members are effective from 22 August. Collectively, the members possess the knowledge, experience, and qualifications necessary for effective governance of the South African Tourism board. The minister expresses appreciation for the members’ commitment to serving South African tourism and extends best wishes for their tenure,” said Sampear.
