“The Occupation has no sovereignty or legitimacy over Al-Aqsa Mosque, and its identity will remain purely Islamic despite the enemy’s crimes and plans. Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa will remain the symbol of the struggle and the compass of our people’s and the Islamic Ummah’s unity until liberation from the filth of occupation,” said the Palestinian resistance group Hamas.
The statement commemorates the 56th anniversary of the burning of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.
Hamas condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements on Greater Israel, calling them a threat to regional security and stability.
“We call for serious Arab and Islamic action to protect Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa, and stop the fascist aggression against our people, land, and holy sites,” the group affirmed.
The resistance also urged the Muslim Ummah and its leaders to hold Israel accountable and remain steadfast in protecting Al-Aqsa.
“We call on the masses of our people to maintain an active presence in Al-Aqsa Mosque to confront extremist settlers’ intrusions and desecration plans,” Hamas reiterated.
