“The fascist occupation army’s assassination of Al Jazeera journalists — most prominently its correspondents Anas al-Sharif and Mohammed Qreiqeh — is a savage crime that exceeds all boundaries of fascism and criminality.”
This is according to the Palestinian resistance group Hamas. The statement comes as the death toll of journalists in Gaza climbs to 232, describing this as “the largest targeting of journalists witnessed in any war worldwide.”
“Their tent in the courtyard of Al-Shifa Hospital, western Gaza City, was hit in an Israeli airstrike by occupation warplanes. We mourn the martyrs who were killed in the airstrike: Al Jazeera correspondents Anas al-Sharif and Mohammed Qreiqeh, camera operators Ibrahim Zaher, Mohammed Noufal, and Moamen Aliwa,” detailed Hamas.
“Martyr Anas al-Sharif was an exemplary, free journalist who documented starvation crimes and revealed to the world scenes of the famine being imposed by the occupation on our people in Gaza,” added the resistance.
