“Hamas has expressed condemnation for using Gaza aid as a political blackmail tool.”
This is according to the Palestinian resistance group Hamas. The statement comes in response to international NGOs working in Gaza and the United Nations (UN) officials’ claiming that the occupation’s purported plans to distribute aid in Gaza constitute “a deceitful attempt to evade international pressure.”
The resistance affirmed the following:
“We strongly reject using aid as a political blackmail tool or distributing it according to the occupation’s terms. We confirm that the (Israeli) proposed plan constitutes a violation of international law and its obligations under the Geneva Conventions. This move comes as an extension to the occupation’s policy of starvation, which gives it time to commit more genocidal crimes,” asserted Hamas.
Furthermore, the resistance expressed its gratitude towards the UN agencies and international NGOs for standing firm on humanitarian principles.
“We highly appreciate the stance taken by UN agencies and international NGOs rejecting any arrangements that do not respect the fundamental humanitarian principles. We affirm that international NGOs and relevant government authorities are the only parties authorized to run and distribute aid, not the occupation and its agents,” added Hamas.
