WCED to kick off education sector vaccinations from Friday

The Western Cape Education Department says its pleased that National Government has secured additional doses of the Johnson & Johnson single dose COVID-19 vaccine for the education sector, including independent schools.

Spokesperson, Bronagh Hammond, says the doses are earmarked for rollout from Friday at schools in the province. She says the provincial Health and Education Departments will utilise 29 vaccination sites for the roll out.

The province will receive about 55-thousand-200 vaccine doses. Hammond says they’ll liaise with independent schools to conclude arrangements for the vaccination process.
