Iran has launched a second wave of missiles towards Israel following the escalation of attacks in Beirut

A dramatic escalation in regional tensions unfolded overnight after Israeli forces claimed to have launched airstrikes on military targets in western and central Iran, just hours after carrying out attacks on the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Residents across several regions of Iran reported hearing powerful explosions. Local and Israeli media indicated that blasts occurred in multiple cities, including areas believed to house military infrastructure.

The Israeli occupation forces said early on Monday that their air force had targeted sites linked to what they described as the “Iranian regime”.
In response, Israeli authorities reported that Iran had launched a second wave of missiles towards Israel. Air raid sirens sounded in several locations as defence systems were activated to intercept incoming projectiles.

The latest developments come amid growing fears that the conflict could spread beyond national borders and draw multiple countries into a wider regional confrontation.
Beirut-based journalist Sara Talih Matar told VOC News that, as tensions continue to rise, residents remain on edge, with many fearing further strikes and a prolonged period of instability.
